Profil Beitrag #1 •	Hi! i had a huge problem today: i ran a Nupage novex 4-12% BIS-TRIS gel (invitrogen) in 1x NuPage MOPS Buffer (diluted from 20x stock - 40ml stock + 760 ml H20) at 200V with constant voltage. After 30 minutes of gel run, the marker-bands had migrated twice as fast as usual, the gel was cracking, the buffer was boiling and the bottom of the gel was burnt :( :( :( anybody an idea what could have gone wrong?? sample treatment and all conditions were the same as usual!!! help us, thanks!!

Profil Beitrag #2 •	It seems obvious to me, that the salt concentration in samples, samplebuffers or electrophoresis buffers was a little bit too high by accident. This leads to an increase in the current and a higher wattage (power) respectively. This will lead to boiling buffer and might even lead to a burnt gel.
